Lecture: Ancient Greek Musical Instruments

Sunday, 6 October 2024

The talk about ancient Greek musical instruments, presented by Panagiotis Mavraidis, will start with an introduction to the earliest musical instruments created in the beginning of civilisation. Attendees will have the opportunity to closely observe several of these instruments and listen to music composed two thousand years ago. Mr Mavraidis will also explain how these musical instruments were crafted and how the ancient musicians used them. The presentation will be given in both Greek and English. Panagiotis Mavraidis, despite his background in electronic engineering, is an amateur musician, researcher, and writer.
