OXI Day Celebrations

Sunday, 29 October 2023

OXI! Marking 83 years since the Greek people said ‘no’ to oppression and ‘yes’ to freedom. During World War II, the 28th of October was commemorated yearly, and after it became a public holiday in Greece and Cyprus. This day is also significant in commemorating the lives sacrificed in pursuit of Greek national values. GOCSA will be honouring OXI Day with a doxology during the church service, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony and poems from the students of it’s afternoon schools.
